Your Credit Union makes managing your money so easy!

As a Credit Union Member you can get the best of both worlds - you can get low-cost loans to spread the cost of those unplanned items that we all face from time to time; at the same time you can also save up with us for future events like Christmas, holidays or a family celebration.
How does it work? Well, simply add a little extra to your regular loan repayments and we’ll look after it safely for you in a Credit Union Savings account until you need it.
For example, suppose you take out a £250 Freedom Loan with us and the repayments are £5.50 a week. Why not set up your bank standing order for £7.00 instead. Then, in a year’s time, not only will your loan be fully paid off, you’ll also have £82 saved up in your Credit Union Savings account!
Look at these other examples, and discover how your Credit Union can help you get on top of your finances:

 Martin Lewis backs credit unions

Money saving expert and consumer advocate, Martin Lewis, recently put his weight behind a campaign to raise the profile of Credit Unions.
Martin said: Credit unions are there to look after members of their community. You can save with them in the good times and borrow back from them in the bad times. It’s the perfect institution for doing just that.

Important information from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme

We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). The FSCS can pay compensation to depositors if a credit union is unable to meet its financial obligations. Most depositors – including most individuals and small businesses – are covered by the scheme.
In respect of deposits, an eligible depositor is entitled to claim up to £50,000. The £50,000 limit relates to the combined amount in all the eligible depositor’s accounts with the credit union and not to each separate account.
For further information about the scheme (including the amounts covered and eligibility to claim) please ask at your local branch, refer to the FSCS website http://www.fscs.org.uk/ or call 0800 678 1100.
New Family Life + provides peace of mind

Losing a loved one is difficult - and yet many life assurance policies take months or even years to settle claims, which can put you or your loved ones out-of-pocket for the costs, such as funeral expenses, arising from the bereavement of a family member.
With FamilyLIFE+, you can insure yourself, your Spouse/Significant Other, your parents or the parents of your Spouse/Significant Other, plus your children (subject to a maximum of 12 insured persons). Children under age 18 are free, until their 18th Birthday.
What is FamilyLIFE+ and how can it protect me?
FamilyLIFE+ is a unique, guaranteed, whole of life protection product for you and your family that provides peace of mind at an affordable price.
You can choose a benefit of £2000, £3000, £4000 or £6000. The cover is guaranteed for as long as premiums continue to be paid to the Insurer and until the last of the insured persons die.
Many life assurances policies take months or even years to settle claims, which mean that individuals can be under financial pressure from costs arising from bereavement of a family member. FamilyLife+ claims are settled within 48 hours.
Who can take this cover out ?
To apply for a policy you must:
- Be aged 18 years or over and under 70 years (Individuals over age 70 can contact insurance@cunamutual.co.uk for a quotation);
