Elections

Allan Davidson, Joseph Hendon, Bill Meadows and Kate Pike were elected to the Board of Directors for three years.

Annual Report and Accounts

Members received the Annual Report and Accounts and re-appointed the Auditors, Jacksons Accountants.

Questions were asked and answered on promoting membership through the workplace and the impact of a potential rise in interest rates.

Presentations

John Smith, Chief Executive, updated members on the opening of our new branch to serve North East Lincolnshire and the recent launch of a Green Loan product to help members to achieve their net zero ambitions.

Bill Meadows, Joint Vice President, introduced Scott Butterfield of Your Credit Union Partner, who described the work his organisation is doing with credit unions around the world to support their strategic planning.  Scott encouraged all members to play their part by advocating their credit union, encouraging their family, friends and work colleagues to join, and using it to borrow as well as save.  He congratulated HEY Credit Union on the difference it is making in the communities it serves.

Other Business

It was agreed to give a donation from the Credit Union to eight organisations helping the communities we serve:

Bridlington MASH (veterans support group); Driffield & Wolds Food Bank; Goole’s Christmas Toy Appeal; The Forge Project, Scunthorpe; Withernsea Armed Forces & Veterans’ Breakfast Club; Beverley Cherry Tree Community Pantry; Hull Trades Council Unity Shop; East Marsh United Community Benefit Society, Grimsby.

A closing prize draw was held and ten members were selected at random to receive a £10 gift voucher.

We should like to thank all members who supported our virtual meeting and all our helpers, especially Jackie at ABCUL for keeping us on track so professionally and Melisa for the superb Twitter feed.
